What’s in a report
Explore the many different bacteria, archaea, fungi and protists (parasites) present in your gut microbiome in the Microbiome species table. With the ability to detect over 28,000 species and how they may be contributing to your overall health, you will get a clear and accurate picture of the current state of your gut microbiome. Types of species in the report include Bifidobacterium, Lactobacillus, Akkermansia, Faecalibacterium, Streptococcus, Escherichia, Clostridium, and many more! Looking for a specific species? Use the search function within your report to see if and how that microorganism appears within your microbiome. You can also download a copy of your species in .CSV format.

Professor Philip Hugenholtz -Microba Co-founder, Chair of Scientific Advisory Board
Professor Phil Hugenholtz is Co-founder of Microba, a fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and a highly-cited world-leading expert in microbiome analysis. Throughout his career as a microbiologist, he has published over one hundred papers in high-impact journals in the field of microbiology and genomics. He has been involved in pioneering many of the methods used in microbiome analysis, including whole genome metagenomic DNA sequencing, and discovered and characterised a number of previously unknown bacterial species. In his role at Microba, he continues to drive the discovery of new insights into the human gut microbiome. Professor Hugenholtz is also Director of the Australian Centre for Ecogenomics (ACE), Australia’s leading centre for genomic research.
